A businessman by profession, Mr Jain has been associated with the Mahajan for a very long time. He is also closely associated with the social and cultural life of Cochin.

After his college education at The Cochin College and Sacred Heart College, Thevara, he joined his family business. But his passion to do service to society propelled him to join Shri Cochin Gujarati Mahajan. Soon he became the manager of Gujarati Vidhyalaya UP School. In recognition of his service as manager of UP school which he transformed into a much sought after institution, Chetan D Shah was nominated as the Secretary of Mahajan. At present he is the Manager of UP School as well as the prestigious Seth Ram Bahadur Singh Gujarati College.

With a clear vision of how educational institutions should function, he is in the Mahajan's education campus early morning and monitors all the activities of the campus minutely almost the whole day.

Chetan D Shah is also closely associated with many other social and cultural organisations in the town.
